Today I will tell you a real story that should let you think about many more ways to start a business or get a better one.
In February 2020, the day covid-19 started to appear in Italy, I was in a closed room with other 1,000 people exchanging handshakes, waiting for an extensive online marketing event.
Between all these people, one, in particular, made me think. We greeted, and when I asked: "Hey, why are you at this event? Are you interested in online marketing?" he answered: "No, I just came here to get countless free leads I could sell my courses. They are all searching how to make money, they have the cash because they paid from €1,000 to €3,000 to get in, so I get their details between one smile and a
handshake, and I will sell them a lot of stuff when I am back at home. I always do so."
It left me speechless, and he should have seen my face because he started laughing at me. I felt like an idiot, there with my block notes waiting for the event to start!
What I mean is never look at things like the masses. Instead, try to find a way to get an advantage, too, even a little one.
I'm not telling you to do the same of that guy, but you can always find a partner to launch a product together, to offer a service you are not able to do, to create a book together at four-hands, or to chat when you need a fresh idea.
Events are significant also for that, and soon they will be back. Also, online events are an excellent chance for you, waiting for the real ones to come back. So talk, get people details, exchange emails, and see where they bring you.
Opportunities are always behind the corner.
